General Questions
What is the main purpose of this organization?
Our core mission is to support cancer survivors throughout their journey after active treatment. We aim to provide comprehensive assistance, including financial support, educational resources, and connections to a supportive community, to help individuals navigate the challenges of life post-cancer.
Who does this organization aim to help?
We focus on individuals who have completed their primary cancer treatment but are dealing with the subsequent physical, emotional, or financial difficulties that can arise during survivorship. Our support is available regardless of the specific type of cancer experienced.
What kinds of support do you provide?
We offer assistance centered around three key areas:
- Financial: Providing aid for post-treatment needs which may include medical grants, therapy, prosthetics, mobility assistance, and more.
- Community Support: Connecting survivors with peer groups, partner programs, and recreational activities.
- Education: Offering resources, guides, and information to help survivors navigate practical aspects of life after cancer treatment.
How are donations used by the organization?
Transparency is important to us. Donations support our general fund, enable community outreach initiatives, fund recreational and supportive events for survivors, and directly contribute to the financial assistance programs we offer to help individuals cover post-treatment expenses.
Other Questions
How can someone apply for or be nominated to receive assistance?
If you or someone you know is a cancer survivor who could benefit from our support, please visit our “Refer a Patient” page. Family members, friends, or community members can submit a confidential nomination form. We review all submissions with sensitivity and privacy.
I'm a survivor looking for guidance rather than financial help. Do you offer resources for me?
Yes, definitely. Our “What Now?” (or equivalent Educational Resource) section is specifically designed for survivors seeking information and guidance. It contains self-help resources, links to support networks, information on navigating follow-up care, and connections to partner organizations offering wellness initiatives.
How can I support the organization's work?
There are several ways to get involved! You can make financial contributions (one-time, recurring, or in honor of someone), explore corporate sponsorships, or offer your time and skills. Businesses and individuals can also propose collaborations, offer services, or host fundraising events. Please check our “Get Involved” or contact page for specific opportunities.
What distinguishes your organization from others focused on cancer?
While many essential organizations concentrate on funding research or providing support during active cancer treatment, our specific focus is on the critical period after primary treatment concludes. We aim to bridge the gap by addressing the long-term well-being and quality of life challenges faced by survivors as they move forward.
